GWM Ora 07 previewed: Two variants, Long Range - 640km range (NEDC standard) and Performance - 550km
By CARSIFU | 05 March 2024KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor's Ora 07 all-electric coupe is the Chinese automaker's vanguard for its ambitious 2024 lineup in Malaysia, heralding the upcoming releases of the GWM Haval H6 hybrid in the second quarter of 2024 and the GWM Tank 300 in the third quarter of 2024.
The Ora 07 which competes against the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal, was shown recently at a media preview at The Raw Studio, Kota Damansara.
In Thailand, it was launched late last year in two variants, namely Long Range (priced at 1.3 million baht or RM171,573) and Performance (priced at 1.5 million baht or RM197,989).
"The Ora 07's design is a harmonious blend of retro and modern, boasting a closed grille and oval-shaped headlights that invoke a sense of nostalgia. It is a visual and technological marvel that epitomises the future of electric driving," said Mencius Meng, GWM's brand director.
The Ora 07's silhouette, reminiscent of a fastback automobile, features hidden door handles, frameless doors, and an adaptive electric spoiler.
Featuring an ultra streamlined sports car design, the Ora 07 also comes with intelligent LED headlamps and panoramic glass roof.
Measuring 4,871mm in length and 1,862mm in width, and 1,500mm in height, the vehicle presents an imposing stance.
The Ora 07 has a cockpit adorned with premium leather, a T-shaped hollow center console with rotating panels, and ergonomic seats with massage features (driver and front passenger).
The sporty tri-dashboard complements the multi-functional steering wheel.
Its premium interior which has a minimalistic design, is completed by a dome-style panoramic sunroof and a smart air conditioning system that delivers a three-dimensional flow, ensuring comfort.
The GWM Ora 07 comes in two variants, and is powered by a 83.499kWh ternary lithium battery.
The Long Range variant features a single electric motor and an impressive range of 640km (on the NEDC standard).
The front-mounted electric motor is rated at 204PS (150kW) and 340Nm of torque, ensuring a smooth and efficient driving experience.
For those craving exhilarating performance and all-weather capabilities, the Performance model comes with two electric motors for all-wheel drive and a range of 550km.
With a total system output of 408PS (300kW) and 680Nm of torque, the Performance variant can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 4.3 seconds.
For safety, the Ora 07 is designed with a cage-like body structure to deliver comprehensive occupant protection.
Standard safety features include lane departure system, lane keeping system (LKA), blind spot monitoring system (BSD), and supports functions such as 360 degree panoramic view, intelligent evasion, traffic sign recognition, cruise speed limit, overspeed alarm and others.

The Ora 07 has undergone rigorous testing, including China's first intense EV Rollover Challenge and the Intersection Collision Challenge, ensuring its robustness against real-life scenarios such as vehicle rollovers and collisions in heay rain.
With advanced sensors, surround cameras, and a cage-style high-strength body, the Ora 07 sets high standards in safety.
The Ora 07 will be available in three colours of Crystal Purple, Amethyst Gray and Jade White.
It is now open for bookings, and buyers will receive a 5-year free maintenance package (including parts and labour). This offer is available for a limited time only.
