PETALING JAYA: Grab announced that a new service called GrabMart has entered pilot testing phase in the Klang Valley starting today.
The company described GrabMart as an "on-demand everyday goods delivery service" for users to buy items or services from selected grocery stores, pharmacy outlets, convenience stores and even florists. Grab has listed stores like Guardian, MyNews, Caring Pharmacy, and MPH Bookstores as some of the options available for GrabMart.
At present, GrabMart delivery is applicable to stores located in Damansara Uptown, Bandar Utama, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Mont Kiara and Hartamas.
GrabMart delivery fees range from RM5 to RM9, depending on travel distance. Users can access GrabMart delivery on the Grab app by clicking on the Food icon and then search for the Mart (beta) icon. The app also allows users to perform payment with GrabPay and track the delivery.
According to a Grab spokesman, delivery hours depend on area and stores' hours which can start as early as 9am and go on until 10pm. If a particular store is not available for delivery, it will be marked as "Closed" on the app. GrabMart deliveries will be performed by both GrabExpress and GrabFood riders.
The spokesman added that the pilot testing phase is for the company to study demand and availability for GrabMart.
