Geely's Radar Auto named Riddara for foreign markets, to enter Thailand

BANGKOK: Geely Holding Group's Radar Auto brand for electric pickup trucks will use the Riddara brand in overseas market.

Riddara also announced its participation in the 41st Thailand International Motor Expo 2024, to be held on Nov 29 to Dec 10 at Impact Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani.

This move further accelerates Riddara's expansion into Southeast Asia.

In July 2022, Geely had launched Radar Auto, alongside the brand’s first electric adventure vehicle, the RD6 pick-up truck.

In a statement, Geely noted that pickup trucks account for over 40% of total automobile sales in Thailand.

"As China’s first pure electric pickup truck, Riddara is expected to reshape the automotive market landscape in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Riddara will also establish corresponding electric vehicle (EV) support systems in Thailand to fully meet local needs and empower pickup users with a new outdoor-inspired lifestyle and work experience," said Geely.

Riddara is built on China’s first fully electric pickup platform – the Multiplex Attached Platform (MAP), comprehensively surpassing the mechanical performance of traditional pickup truck platforms.

The larger battery supports products with a maximum driving range of over 800km and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in approximately 3 seconds.

Additionally, the MAP supports external discharge capabilities and intelligent IoT functions.

In 2023, Riddara achieved a market share of more than 60% in the EV pickup truck market in China, with a peak monthly market share reaching 84.2%.

Overseas, Riddara has entered nearly 20 countries, spanning Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and other regions.
