KUALA LUMPUR: The GAC GS3 Emzoom is now locally assembled, says distributor WTC Automotif (M) Sdn. Bhd. (WTCA).
Effective immediately, WTCA will stop accepting bookings for Completely Built-Up (CBU) units.
Customers with pending CBU bookings can choose to convert them to locally assembled units.
The locally assembled GS3 Emzoom, now only available in the Premium-R variant, is priced at RM126,800 and comes in five colours: Salt Lake Blue, Asphalt Black, Superstar Silver, Graphite Grey, and Frost White.
The local assembly project, launched on May 11, 2023, in collaboration with China's GAC Motor, involved an investment of over RM60 million to upgrade production facilities.
The first Emzoom model was produced at the Segambut plant in February 2024, entered full production in April, and was initially launched as a fully imported unit on April 18.
Customers facing a waiting period of over three months or those converting from fully imported to locally assembled unit will receive free tinting services worth up to RM2,100, in addition to a promotion offering one year of free service or three complimentary maintenance sessions.
The vehicle also comes with a 5-year or 150,000km warranty. Additionally, the first 2,000 buyers will receive a free smartwatch and an extended 7-year or 180,000km warranty on the engine and powertrain.
WTCA said it will be planning more variants and models to be introduced in locally assembled form.
