Free RFID tag install offer: It all ends today
By CARSIFU | 11 February 2020PETALING JAYA: Right, folk. There's only a few hours left today to go out there to install RFID tags on your car for free. It's a case of "first come, first served" while tag stock lasts.
Only 16 fitment centres still have stock of the RFID tags, with 14 in the Klang Valley and two in Johor Baru (see list below).
The Touch 'n Go (TnG) free offer, originally slated to end on Feb 14, was brought forward to today. TnG had announced abruptly on Monday that the free offer had to be cut short because it said the last three days had to be reserved for "system maintenance."
Taken at face value, it would appear that TnG's terse statement meant that they needed to reconfigure their computer network and billing system to start charging people for the service from Feb 15. So there goes the chance to get something useful free for the latecomers.
For those who fail to get the RFID tag, start getting used to paying RM35 from Feb 15.
