First details of three Toyota Crown models released
By CARSIFU | 14 April 2023TOYOTA CITY: Toyota told the world last July that its Crown range would have an SUV model for the first time as it sought to reboot the 68-year-old brand.
It offered some more details on April 12 on three other models in the range namely the Sport, Sedan, and Estate.
The table provided by Toyota highlights key details of the three Crown models.
The trio would be able to seat 5 people and come with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
Standard wheels for the Sport and Estate are 21-inch alloys while the Sedan will get a choice of 19- and 20-inchers.
Only the Sport and Estate will have two-tone paints as shown on the Toyota website.
The 16th-generation Crown family is based on the TNGA platform and will be available in 40 countries and regions, marking the first time the Crown is sold outside Japan.
Toyota said it expects to sell 200,000 units of the Crown family once all four rolls off the production line.
The Crown was introduced in 1955. It was the first passenger car developed and built in Japan, and symbolised a key milestone in Japan's rise to a global carmaking giant.
