Proton gears up for anniversary Saga with online contest

SHAH ALAM: Proton is holding a slogan contest on its official website for the upcoming Saga Anniversary Edition model.
The Saga compact sedan was launched on July 9, 1985 and that first-generation car was based on a Mitsubishi Lancer model.
To celebrate its 35th year, Proton will be launching a Saga Anniversary Edition, which is slated for reveal on July 9. The contest poster shows a predominantly black colour scheme, which ties in with rumours that the car would be available only in black and be called the Black Saga Edition.
Join the slogan contest and stand a chance to win Shopee vouchers worth up to RM3,350.
Today, the Saga retains its position as the mainstay of Proton’s range of offerings. Since the launch of the upgraded 2019 model, booking volumes have nearly matched those of the original, which was sold during a time when consumers had fewer options to choose from.
In fact, for the month of May was the best-selling car in Malaysia while in June, it reached its highest monthly sales volume in 70 months.
Cumulatively over 1.8 million units have been sold in the last 35 years, meaning the Saga is the most popular model from a Malaysian marque.
For the next evolution of the Saga, check Proton's official Facebook page at 10.35am on July 9 to find out.
