Aminar's appointment is with immediate effect.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) has appointed Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh as the chairman of its board of directors, effective immediately.In a statement today, MARii highlighted Aminar’s extensive experience and strategic leadership in the nation’s automotive and technology sectors.
"Previously, he served as the managing director, president, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) from 2010 to 2018.
He also held key strategic roles at UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, including as the company’s executive director of group strategic planning.
Aminar said with the collective efforts of the entire MARii team, he believes that the institute would continue to strengthen the nation’s automotive ecosystem through close collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (Miti), industry players, universities, and government agencies,
MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz described Aminar’s appointment as a strategic move to drive the transformation of Malaysia’s automotive industry.
Prior to Aminar's appointment, Miti secretary-general Datuk Hairil Yahri Yaacob sat as MARii's interim chairman.
