Electric Porsche Macan now in Malaysia, 4 variants priced from RM430K

KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche distributor Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has launched the all-electric Porsche Macan, with prices starting at RM430,000.

Four variants are available: the Macan (RM430,000), Macan 4 (RM445,000), Macan 4S (RM525,000), and the top-tier Macan Turbo (RM635,000).

The new models are now available for orders and test drives at Porsche Centres nationwide.

The electric Macan made its world premiere in Singapore early this year.

Built on Porsche’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the Macan features an 800-volt architecture and a 100kWh battery, offering WLTP ranges between 590km and 641km depending on variants.

Charging efficiency is a highlight, with fast charging from 10% to 80% achievable in 21 minutes using compatible stations.

Performance varies across the range, with power outputs starting from 265 kW (355hp) in the base model to a staggering 470 kW (630hp) in the Macan Turbo, which sprints from 0-100kph in just 3.3 seconds.

The Macan blends Porsche's signature sporty aesthetics with the practicality of an SUV.

It comes with aerodynamic enhancements like adaptive rear spoilers and active cooling flaps, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.25.

An optional off-road package adds 10mm of ground clearance, improving versatility.

Inside, the Macan boasts connectivity and luxury, with a redesigned cockpit, including a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster, multiple display screens, and a cutting-edge infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS.

Practicality is boosted with a rear cargo capacity of up to 540 litres and an additional 84-litre “frunk.”

All variants come equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and optional rear-axle steering, delivering superior handling.

Standard features include a premium BOSE sound system, four-zone climate control, and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

For colour options, the Macan range is offered in 13 standard colours (59 special colours) along with eight colour variations for the interior, four accent packages and seven interior packages.

For peace of mind, each variant comes with a standard two-year maintenance and warranty package while the high-voltage battery gets an eight-year or 160,000km (whichever comes first) coverage.

Owners may opt to purchase an extended warranty coverage from Porsche Malaysia for up to 15 years if preferred.

Porsche Asia Pacific regional head Remy Ng said Malaysia underscores its important role in the Southeast Asian region with highlights such as exporting the first Malaysian-assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé to Thailand and opening a new charging hub in Genting Highlands in partnership with Shell.

Ng also highlighted that the electrified second-generation Macan reflects Malaysia's increasing interest in electric mobility, offering a compelling SUV option to meet growing demand.
