Setel fuel app offers cashback sweetener

KUALA LUMPUR: To coax Setel users to link their petrol credit cards to the Setel app, Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd is introducing a casbback of up to 10% through the fuel purchasing app.

Setel can only be used at Petronas stations.

The new feature is applicable with immediate effect on fuel cashback credit cards issued by Ambank, CIMB, Citi, Hong Leong Bank, RHB Bank and UOB. More cards will be added in future.

Setel crossed the one million users’ mark just a month after its nationwide expansion in February, making it one of the fastest-growing mobile applications in Malaysia.

According to Setel Ventures CEO Iskandar Ezzahuddin, daily usage of the app in February showed an increase of 85% from the previous month.

Setel’s fuel payment process helps minimise physical touchpoints at the station and is said to smoothen the refuelling experience.

“Customers who currently benefit from fuel cashback with their credit cards have been asking to get on Setel. They can now enjoy the seamless experience without losing the existing privileges," said Iskandar.

The app is available for free via the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
