PETALING JAYA: Ducati Malaysia has introduced its flagship Panigale V4 and V4 S superbikes in the country.
The Panigale V4 and V4 S are priced at RM132,900 and RM172,000 respectively and were launched together with the Scrambler Icon Dark and Panigale V2.
The bikes are available to order at an authorised dealership - Ducati Petaling Jaya, Ducati Sungai Buloh and Ducati Penang with the initial two units of the V4 and five units of the V4 S already purchased.
Both model variants are powered by a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 42-degree V4 engine that can deliver 214hp at 13,000rpm and 124Nm of torque at 10,000rpm.
The Panigale V4 has received a series of refinements for this year to make it more user-friendly, more refreshing of a ride yet faster regardless of whether it's on the road or track.
The improvements by Ducati and Ducati Corse engineers include aerodynamic, chassis, electronic controls and Ride by Wire mapping changes.
Such improvements looked at increasing the bike's stability and turn-in speed as well as throttle control for a more engaging ride.
The Panigale V4 and V4 S models have adopted more content from the V4 R, starting with the aero pack (aerofoils, screen and nose fairing.
A larger lateral fairing has also be included as well as a more efficient radiator through-air side vents while the aero pack provides better airflow protection for the rider and an improvement on overall stability.
Both Pangiale bikes benefit from a revision to the front of the frame which has now more rigid with less heft for an improved front-end feel at maximum lean angles.
Completing the chassis is the light magnesium front sub-frame and the shell-cast aluminium seat sub-frame that's attached to the front frame at the top and bolted to the head of the rear cylinder bank below.
In terms of electronics, the revised Panigale comes equipped as standard with Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2 and Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2.
The bike also features specially-developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several different torque delivery control logics.
The suspension system is made up of front Öhlins NIX-30 fork and a rear Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber as well as an Öhlins event-based steering damper.
These are controlled by a second-generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system which features the new Objective Based Tuning Interface (OBTi) system among others.
For differentiation, the Panigale V4 S comes fitted with a lithium-ion battery instead as well as blacked-out Marchesini forged aluminium wheels and sports grips - hence the additional RM39,100 premium over the standard V4 variant.
