Ducati optimistic about growth in Malaysia
By A. NACHI | 05 November 2024KUALA LUMPUR: In Malaysia, Ducati is gearing up for an exciting phase of growth.
Ducati Motor Holding global sales and after sales director Francesco Milicia is optimistic about Ducati’s future in Malaysia, foreseeing the brand reaching new heights and offering new experiences in the next 12 months.
He credits this to a good mix of marketing, after-sales service, customer relationship initiatives, and an expanding dealer network that will bring Ducati closer to Malaysians.
While Ducati has positioned itself a as a luxury brand in Malaysia, Milicia emphasised that accessibility remains a priority.
"We’re committed to offering a variety of models that suit different riders’ needs,” he shared, explaining Ducati’s strategy to expand its appeal without a one-size-fits-all approach.
Discussing competition from Chinese manufacturers, Milicia welcomed the challenge, viewing it as motivation to excel.
“Competition is healthy — it drives us to deliver nothing but the best, which has always been Ducati's mantra,” he noted.
Confident in Ducati’s commitment to quality, he believes this will help the brand stand out in an open market.
As for electric motorcycles, Milicia explained that it is not Ducati’s priority for now.
The concern is the battery weight, which affects the overall weight of a bike.
“Our focus is on making bikes lighter, which is key to enhancing performance,” he said.
With a clear commitment to accessibility, quality, and innovation, Ducati is set for promising growth in Malaysia and beyond.
