Cops cripple gang for allegedly stealing building materials for Pan Borneo Highway project

SIBU: Police in Dalat have crippled a three-member gang for allegedly stealing building materials for the Pan Borneo Highway project.
"The theft was reported in Dalat on Aug18 by a site foreman working with the construction company at KM49 of the Pan Borneo Highway.
“Losses were estimated at about RM10,000," said Dalat OCPD, Deputy Supt Saga Chunggat.
Saga said the three suspects were apprehended in Sibu following a tip-off from the public.

"The success was due to public tip off. The first suspect was arrested by the public and later handed over to the police," he said today.
This led to the arrest of two more suspects. A lorry fully loaded with stolen items which included iron rods and cables were also confiscated.
"With the arrest of the suspects, we believe that we have solved the case of stolen property belonging to sub-contractors along Pan-Borneo Stapang/Selanggau area," he said.
All three suspects have been detained at the Dalat police station for further investigation.
