Continental Tyre Malaysia partners with 4 automotive academies

KUALA LUMPUR: Continental Tyre Malaysia is collaborating with four automotive academies namely Leng Kee Auto Academy, Pro Skills Academy, Rimbunan Hijau Academy and Techtra Automotive Academy, in order to strengthen talent placement within the Continental retailer network.

It also aims to address the industry’s ongoing talent recruitment challenges, says Continental Tyre Malaysia in a statement.

Students will gain hands-on experience in a real-world work environment, enhancing their career readiness and expanding employment opportunities.

As the first tyre manufacturer to partner with local automotive academies, Continental expands career opportunities for students beyond traditional placements with car manufacturers’ service centres.

By addressing the industry’s talent gap and sharing valuable industry knowledge, this initiative helps build a more skilled, job-ready workforce, ensuring long-term industry sustainability.

"This collaboration reinforces our strategic commitment to talent development and industry sustainability. By partnering with these leading academies, we are cultivating a skilled workforce and creating greater career opportunities for future generations," said Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Andrea Somorova.

This partnership will feature joint training programs focused on knowledge sharing between Continental and the automotive academies.

Experts from Continental will provide comprehensive tyre-related training to students, while the academies will offer specialised courses tailored to industry needs.

These cross-trainings will cover essential topics such as staff technical upskilling and vehicle maintenance, including electric vehicles (EVs).

“Our students will gain greater access to real-world learning experiences, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to seamlessly transition from education to employment,” said Leng Kee Auto Academy founder and principal Mr. Kek.

“By aligning our courses with industry needs, I am confident that our students’ learning growth will enhance their employability, equipping them with practical and valuable skills,” said Pro Skills Academy chairman Mr. Yang.

“Partnering with Continental provides a platform for our students to receive training and become job-ready, meeting the evolving demands of the industry,” said Rimbunan Hijau Academy director Ms. Sarah Tiong.

“We strive to offer students valuable industry exposure and hands-on training, maximizing their involvement in one of the leading tyre industries,” said Techtra Automotive Academy director Mr. Fong.
