CKD Mercedes-Benz C 350 e PHEV priced at RM339K
By CARSIFU | 07 May 2024PETALING JAYA: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today announced the official price of the locally assembled C 350 e Plug-in Hybrid that was launched in February.
Assembled in Pekan, Pahang, the C 350 e is priced at RM338,888 (on-the-road without insurance), down RM16,112 from its estimated RM355,000 pricing announced previously.
To recap, the C 350 e features a dual powertrain system combining a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor.
The petrol engine delivers 204hp and 320Nm of torque, ensuring dynamic performance.
The electric motor adds 95kW/127hp and 440Nm of torque, contributing to a total system output of 313hp and 550Nm of torque.
This allows the C 350 e to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 6.1 seconds, with a top speed of 245kph.
This plug-in hybrid can travel up to 117km on electric power alone, according to WLTP.
It houses a 25.4 kWh high-voltage battery developed by Mercedes-Benz AG, featuring 96 cells in a pouch configuration and an innovative cooling system to manage the battery's high energy density effectively.
The vehicle includes a standard 11kW charger for three-phase charging and a mode 2 charging cable.
The battery's placement has been optimised compared to previous models, removing the boot step and allowing through-loading, which enhances everyday practicality.
Exterior features of the C 350 e include AMG Line styling with 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, a high-gloss black Night Package, and digital lights with adaptive high-beam assist.
The interior boasts sport seats, a multifunction sports steering wheel, and dual high-resolution screens, all enhanced by the latest MBUX multimedia system.
Safety technologies such as a 360° camera, Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, and GUARD 360° Vehicle protection ensure a secure driving experience.
The car’s intelligent operating strategy optimises electric mode activation based on route conditions, maximizing efficiency.
The C 350 e also features innovative driving functions like the "one-pedal feeling," which allows the vehicle to decelerate using just the electric motor, often eliminating the need for the hydraulic brake.
This, combined with an enhanced energy recovery system, ensures that drivers can manage their driving experience and energy use effectively.
Mercedes-Benz also introduced the Agility+ Plan, providing financial flexibility and added benefits for C 350 e buyers.
This plan offers lower monthly installments, flexible end-of-agreement options, and a guarantee of the car's future value.
Additional perks include six service packages and up to RM3,800 in Star Protect motor insurance support.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia CEO/president Amanda Zhang emphasised the vehicle's role as a transitional model to future all-electric offerings.
"As a plug-in hybrid variant with up to 117km (WLTP) in all-electric range, the C 350 e serves as a bridge towards an all-electric future and will pave the way for other plug-in hybrid models to come.
"The C 350 e combines performance and agility, highlighted by its sporty AMG appearance," said Zhang.
She also said the car can predominantly operate in all-electric mode for everyday use, supported by a 6-year/100,000 km warranty on its high-voltage battery, ensuring reliability and innovation for customers.
