Citroën shows off new Ami and Buggy Vision Concept

PARIS: Citroën's electric quadricycle, the Ami, celebrates its fourth year with significant updates and new concepts at the Paris Motor Show.

Since its 2020 launch, the compact urban vehicle has attracted over 65,000 customers, transforming the landscape of micro-mobility with its affordable, electric-powered design.

At the Paris show, Citroën showcased two world premieres: the next-generation Ami, set to launch in 2025, and the Ami Buggy Vision concept, a playful and adventurous variant focused on outdoor activities like kite surfing.

The 2025 Ami retains its compact dimensions but features a redesigned front and rear, with sharper lines and a more expressive look.

The new front design includes headlamps raised near the windshield and a simplified, sculpted bumper. The brand's updated logo is positioned under the sloping windshield, giving the car a unique identity. Symmetry remains a core design element, contributing to Ami's cost-efficiency and distinctive character.

Design nods to Citroën’s iconic 2CV can be seen in the striations on the front and rear wings, a tribute to the classic car’s 1948 design. The new Ami continues to focus on simplicity and accessibility, much like its predecessor.

Changes are purely in the looks; the powertrain stays unchanged. It is propelled by an 8hp electric motor and 5.5 kWh battery pack for a 74km range up to 41kph.

Ami Buggy Vision Concept

Ami Buggy Vision takes the 2025 model's adventurous spirit further, with no doors and a sunroof, catering to outdoor enthusiasts. The concept is designed around the theme of kite surfing, featuring a distinct midnight blue body with a white roof for contrast.

The wide, heavily notched tyres enhance stability and grip, while the black wheel arch protectors underscore the rugged, outdoor-ready vibe.

The concept vehicle includes clever functonal details, such as a door-mounted hook system for carrying kite surfboards.

The interior features new seat cushions with the Citroën Advanced Comfort design in a striking orange-red colour, enhancing comfort for the two occupants. A special dashboard with aquatic-themed motifs emphasizes the unique character of the Buggy Vision.

> My Ami for All: A version adapted for people with disabilities, incorporating functional changes to facilitate access for those with reduced mobility.

> My Ami Rose Festival: Designed in collaboration with musical duo Bigflo and Oli, this version supports the Rose Festival, a cultural event promoting artistic development and social causes.

> My Ami Peps: A dynamic edition with vibrant colours, a rear spoiler, and floral-themed wheel trims. It also includes functional accessories like smartphone integration for a seamless driving experience.
