Chery Tiggo 9 launches in UAE and Kuwait, Middle East parts depot opens
By CARSIFU | 26 December 2024DUBAI: Chery International marked two major milestones in its Middle East operations on Dec 19 with the simultaneous launch of the Tiggo 9 SUV in the UAE and Kuwait and the opening of its Middle East Regional Spare Parts Distribution Centre here.
At the launch, Chery showcased the SUV’s advanced features, including a new family design focused on safety and aesthetics. Equipped with L2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the vehicle prioritizes safety while offering luxury elements such as a Sony audio system, 10-point massage seats, and a "One-Touch Recline" function.
The Tiggo 9 is available in two versions: a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a 1.5-turbocharged hybrid engine and a three-speed DHT gearbox achieving thermal efficiency of 44.5%, and an internal combustion engine (ICE) version powered by a 2.0-litre TGDI engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The plug-in hybrid variant delivers a combined output of 375hp and 610Nm of torque. The ICE version produces 257hp and 400Nm of torque.
Advanced technology and safety features in the Tiggo 9 include a 15.6-inch infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless phone charging, tri-zone climate control, massaging and ventilated front seats, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with up to 10 airbags and a 540-degree camera system.
On the same day, Chery opened its Middle East Regional Spare Parts Distribution Centre near Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport here.
This centre, the largest spare parts facility in the region by a Chinese automotive brand, stocks over 20,000 types of spare parts and features modern logistics technology to enhance delivery efficiency. Its strategic location and state-of-the-art infrastructure ensure faster service and support for Chery’s growing customer base in the Middle East.
Chery’s simultaneous launch of the Tiggo 9 and opening of the spare parts centre highlight its global approach and focus on customer satisfaction. The initiatives aim to bolster Chery’s brand presence and market expansion in the region, catering to the increasing demand for premium vehicles and after-sales services.
