BMW to retire V12 M760Li flagship
By CARSIFU | 12 May 2020
MUNICH: BMW will end production of its V12 M760Li flagship sedan by late 2020, according to German automotive site BimmerToday,
The most powerful 7 Series variant is due to wrap up production around the final quarter of the year.
The reason for the M760Li's demise is likely due to the increasingly stringent emissions standard in Europe.
The M760Li's twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12 produces 577hp and 850Nm mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can sprint from standstill to 100kph in 3.8 seconds while top speed is electronically limited to 250kph.
BMW Group CEO Oliver Zipse has confirmed that the next-generation top-of-the-range 7 Series sedan will be a full electric variant.
