KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today launched two updated models.
The M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive retails for RM918,600; the 430i Coupé M Sport Pro is RM491,000.
Prices are inclusive of the optional five-year extended warranty and service package. Subtract RM47,800 (reduced to RM870,800) and RM25,200 (reduced to RM465,800) from the M4 Coupe and 430i Coupe respectively if you can live with the standard 2-year warranty BMW scheme that was introduced from January 2021.
Both vehicles feature enhancements in design, performance, and technology.
M4 Coupe
The new M4 receives notable updates, particularly in design and performance.
The adaptive LED headlights now feature a new design language, including high beam assistant, ensuring consistent illumination even through corners.
The vehicle’s sportiness is enhanced by staggered 19-inch/20-inch M forged wheels in Double-spoke style 826 M Black, paired with M Compound brakes in red high-gloss. The inclusion of a carbon fibre roof lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity, improving stability and handling.
Powering the M4 is a 3.0-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine, delivering 530hp, an increase of 20hp over its predecessor.
The M xDrive system allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 3.5 seconds, and to 200kph in 11.8 seconds.
The M4 comes with an eight-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission, M sport differential, and adaptive M suspension as standard, ensuring exceptional driving dynamics.
Inside, the M4 features the BMW Curved Display, which integrates a 12.3-inch instrument display with a 14.9-inch control display, all powered by BMW Operating System 8.5.
M-specific interior elements, including carbon fibre trim and M Sport seats with lumbar support, electric adjustment, and heating, enhance the cabin’s sporty yet luxurious feel.
Driver assistance features include Driving Assistant, cruise control with braking function, and Parking Assistant Plus. M Drive Professional, included as standard, offers advanced driving analytics. Connectivity is bolstered by BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Harman Kardon surround sound system, featuring 16 speakers and a 464W amplifier, ensures premium audio quality.
The M4 also offers customisation options through M Performance Parts, including a carbon rear wing and titanium silencer system. Exterior colour options include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and M Brooklyn Grey metallic, among others, with interior upholstery available in several Merino leather combinations.
430i Coupe.
The 430i sees a refreshed design and enhanced features aimed at blending sportiness with elegance.
The redesigned kidney grille with a black high-gloss finish and adaptive LED headlights with a new daytime running light signature mark the exterior updates.
The vehicle sits on 19-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 995 M in Jet Black, accompanied by M Sport brakes in red high-gloss. Laser taillights provide a distinctive rear view.
The interior of the 430i is centered around the BMW Curved Display, which combines a 12.3-inch instrument display with a 14.9-inch control display, powered by BMW Operating System 8.5.
The cockpit features an M Leather steering wheel with a flattened bottom and a 12 o’clock marker.
The sport seats, upholstered in Sensatec perforated material (synthetic leather), offer memory function, and the Luxury instrument panel adds to the interior’s refined ambiance.
Under the hood, the 430i is equipped with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 258hp and 400Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, offering smooth gear transitions and precise control. The vehicle features Variable Sport Steering and Adaptive M suspension, providing a balance of agility and ride comfort.
Digital features include BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, Head-Up Display, and Augmented View for route guidance.
Connectivity is supported by enhanced smartphone integration, teleservices, and the Harman Kardon surround sound system.
The vehicle also comes with a range of driver assistance systems, including Lane Departure Warning, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist Camera.
Exterior colour options for the 430i Coupé M Sport Pro include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and M Portimao Blue metallic, with Sensatec upholstery available in Tacora Red, Cognac, and Black.
