KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today launched the new iX1 eDrive20 M Sport, expanding the all-electric model line-up to two.
The higher spec iX1 xDrive30 M Sport was introduced in May 2023 with a price of up to RM290,000. Both variants are fully imported.
The iX1 eDrive20 M Sport is available for booking from May 1 at authorised dealers nationwide.
The price of the latest iX1 starts from RM249,800, and goes up to RM264,000, a RM14,200 premium for the 5-year unlimited warranty and free scheduled service.
The iX1 features a modern exterior with the M Sport kit, which includes an updated enclosed kidney grille with an X-shaped design that enhances its sporty appeal.
This is complemented by wrap-around front lights and L-shaped taillights to highlight its full-LED technology.
The BMW Curved Display adds sophistication to the cabin.
The display comprises a high-resolution 10.25-inch instrument display and a 10.7-inch control display, integrated into the BMW Live Cockpit Professional powered by the latest BMW Operating System 9.
Under the bonnet, the iX1 eDrive20 M Sport is powered by a front-axle electrically excited synchronous motor paired with a 64.8kWh battery.
This configuration allows the compact SAV to deliver up to 150kW/204hp and 250Nm of peak torque with overboost.
It can reach a top speed of 170kph and accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 8.6 seconds. Its battery provides a decent range of up to 475km on a single charge under the WLTP cycle.
The vehicle supports 11kW AC charging and up to 130kW DC fast charging. It can gain about 120km of range with 10 minutes of DC charging, promoting convenience for city and inter-city travel.
