Updated BMW iX xDrive50 Sport and iX M60 arrive with 22kW AC charging, priced from RM466K
By CARSIFU | 16 February 2024KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today introduced the refreshed iX xDrive50 Sport and iX M60.
The two model variants joined the X5 xDrive50e M Sport plug-in hybrid that was launched last month.
The xDrive50 Sport is priced at RM465,800 and the M60 at RM579,800, both on-the-road without insurance and with standard two-year warranty. Choosing the optional 5-year extended warranty and BMW service & repair package, valued at RM33,200, would bump up the respective prices to RM499,000 and RM613,000.
The xDrive50 Sport and M60 now come with enhanced technological capabilities. These updates aim to solidify BMW's position in the premium electric vehicle sector, offering advancements in charging technology, suspension systems, and overall driving experience.
Enhanced charging capabilities
A notable upgrade is the inclusion of the AC Charging Professional feature as standard across both variants.
This advancement brings a 22 kW charging capability to the xDrive50 Sport, significantly reducing charging times. Previously, the onboard AC charger maxed out at 11kW.
Owners of the xDrive50 Sport can now achieve a full charge (0 to 100%) in 5 hours and 30 minutes, a substantial improvement over previous charging durations. Like before, the M60 continues to support 22kW AC charging and takes the same amount of time as the new xDrive50 Sport to get a full charge.
DC fast charging remains unchanged in both variants at 195kW, enabling a rapid charge from 0% to 80% in 35 minutes. BMW also offers an 11kW AC Wallbox charger for a full charge in 11 hours.
Nationwide charging network
iX owners have access to over 1,700 charging stations nationwide. Strategic partnerships with local EV charging providers, such as ChargeEV and Yinson GreenTech, along with JomCharge, Gentari, and others, have expanded access to more than 400 facilities.
Performance and driving experience
The xDrive50 Sport boasts a maximum output of 385 kW (523 hp) and an electric range of up to 630km (WLTP), coupled with a torque of up to 765Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 200kph.
The M60, with its dual-motor configuration, delivers a combined output of 455 kW (619 hp) and an electric range of up to 561km (WLTP). It features 1,015Nm of torque, which increases to 1,100Nm with Launch Control, achieving 0 to 100kph in 3.8 seconds.
Both variants come standard with a dual-axle air suspension system for a smooth and refined driving experience. The BMW Iconic Sounds Electric further enhances the immersive driving experience, creating a unique connection between the vehicle and its sound.
Design and comfort
The vehicles feature Comfort Access with BMW Digital Key Plus, allowing seamless and secure access. The luxurious cabin is equipped with the Interior Design Atelier, Harman Kardon sound system, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, and enhanced comfort features like multifunctional seats and 4-zone automatic air conditioning. The new BMW Operating System 8.5 offers a streamlined interface for added convenience.
Exterior and interior options
Available in a range of colours, including Alpine White and Mineral White Metallic, with options for Aventurine Red Metallic or Individual Storm Bay Metallic at RM6,200 extra. Interior options include the Interior Design Atelier in Mocha or Black, with the possibility to upgrade to the Interior Design Suite in Amido or Castanea for an extra RM17,300.
Ownership and financing options
BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia offers the Easy Drive Financing Plan, allowing ownership with monthly instalments starting from RM 6,599 for the xDrive50 Sport and RM8,252 for the M60. The instalment amounts are based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure after RM10,000 Easy Drive Cash Rebate until March 31.
The Straight-Line Financing Plan provides an alternative with lower monthly instalments over a seven-year tenure.
Owners will get the complete BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, including a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, an 8-Year / 160,000km battery warranty, roadside assistance, and more.
