By CARSIFU | 13 March 2024PETALING JAYA: It's now the turn of the BMW i5 to get faster AC charging
The fully imported i5 eDrive40 M Sport has been upgraded to 22kW charging for 2024, up from 11kW previously. This results in halving the charging time, with the car being charged from 0 to full in four hours 15 mins.
There's no change to DC charging, which remains at 205kW, enabling an 80% charge in 34 minutes.
BMW Malaysia said the updated i5 is now priced at RM399,800, RM300 more than the one introduced in November last year.
The price includes two years' warranty with unlimited mileage.

The 83.9kWh Li-ion battery pack gets the usual 8-year or 160,000km mileage, whichever comes first.
With the minimal price change, something's got to give. For 2024, BMW has removed the panoramic glass roof, ventilated seat feature and reduce the wheel size from 21-inch to 20. The crystal gearshifter and iDrive controller are also stripped out.

The display boasts a 12.3-inch instrument panel with a 14.9-inch touchscreen Control Display.
Upholstery can be specified in Leather Merino Black, Leather Merino Copper Brown or Leather Merino Silverstone.
