BMW i4 priced at RM390K and open for pre-booking

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today announced pre-booking has opened for the BMW i4.

The i4 eDrive40 M Sport is priced from RM 389,800 (on the road, without insurance) .

The electric car was previewed at the NEXTGen Malaysia event on Jan 13.

With a classic rear-wheel drive layout, the car's electric motor makes 250 kW/340 hp and a peak torque of 430 Nm, which allows for a century sprint time of 5.7 seconds. Range is 590km.

The car's fifth-generation eDrive system is compatible with the latest charging technology. Its Combined Charging Unit with built-in 4 kW voltage transformer has been designed to enable flexible battery charging.

It can be used with a domestic power socket or a BMW i Wallbox, which is an 11-kW AC charger that fully charges the car in 8 hours 15 minutes. It also works with DC fast chargers. For example, a 200-kW DC charger can charge the car from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 31 minutes.

Standard features are BMW Laserlights, 19-inch wheels and M Sport brakes.

Functional cabin features include variable sports steering, electric seat adjuster with memory function and automatic air conditioning. BMW has fitted a 17-speaker Harman Kardon surround system in the car.

The i4 is available in white, grey or black. Green and blue will be available later in 2022. The original grey will then be replaced by a different shade of grey as well.
