BMW G 310 GS and G 310 R unveiled
By CARSIFU | 20 August 2021KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Motorrad Malaysia has unveiled the new BMW G 310 GS, G 310 GS ‘40 Years Edition’, and the G 310 R motorcycles that are designed for everyday versatility, whether in everyday traffic and terrain.
The G 310 R comes at RM27,500, the G 310 GS at RM29,500 and G 310 GS ’40 Years Edition’ at RM31,500.
The retail prices are on-the-road, without insurance, and with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programmes.
The new G 310 GS can be recognised at first glance as a genuine BMW GS with its characteristic windscreen, high front fender, striking flyline and short, high rear end, it retains the main elements of the larger BMW R 1250 GS models.
The ’40 Years Edition’ model features the eye-catching black and yellow look, inspired by the BMW R 100 GS and the rich GS history.
The new G 310 R, meanwhile, bears an unmistakeable visual similarity to the sporty BMW S 1000 R.
With the addition of a full-LED headlight, the new models now feature an even more aggressive and dynamic appearance from the front with enhanced dynamics and safety to match.
In terms of appearance, the three new models also feature engine housing covers for the alternator, clutch, and water pump, now painted in metallic titanium grey.
Unique to the G 310 GS ‘40 Years Edition’, however, is the historic black and yellow appearance – inspired by the legendary BMW R 100 GS.
Eye-catching design elements in yellow highlight the unmistakable GS Flyline of the G 310 GS ’40 Years Edition’, complemented by the black windscreen, handlebars, fuel tank, engine block and rims.
This limited-special edition model of 40 units will only be available this year, while stock last.
Powering the motorcycles is a 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection delivering 34hp at 9,500rpm and a maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm.
The engine is now equipped with an “electronic throttle grip” (electromotive throttle controller) and offers an even more sensitive throttle response.
Their self-boosting anti-hopping clutch is also a new addition and serves to reduce engine drag torque, providing a significant increase in driving safety – particularly during braking manoeuvres involving simultaneous downshifting.
The G 310 GS comes Kyanite Blue Metallic (Style Rallye) and Polar White, along with Cosmic Black – exclusive to the ’40 Years Edition’.
Meanwhile, the G 310 R is available in Limestone Metallic (Style Sport).
With the Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the G 310 GS, G 310 GS ’40 Years Edition’, and G 310 R start from RM490, RM520, and RM460 per month, respectively, based on balloon financing estimates of an 80% loan on a 4-year tenure.
Owners can also enjoy additional benefits with the industry-leading Premium Engine Oil Inclusive, Service Inclusive and Warranty Extension Programmes by BMW Motorrad Malaysia.
