“The BMW 5 Series has long held a celebrated position within the BMW Group portfolio, both around the world and in Malaysia and since its debut in 1972, it has established itself as a leader in the premium executive sedan segment,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Benjamin Nagel.
Nagel added that BMW Malaysia is still the largest assembler and exporter of premium vehicles to the Southeast Asian region with over 10,000 vehicles successfully exported since 2018.
The 520i was recently introduced in September while the latest iteration of the i5 (https://www.carsifu.my/news/bmw-520i-m-sport-rm350k-48v-mild-hybrid) was brought in sometime in early March (https://www.carsifu.my/news/bmw-i5-gets-22kw-ac-charging-for-2024).
During the event, it was announced that new and current owners of the latest 5 Series can now access the M Performance Parts package.

Also available are exterior carbon mirror caps (RM11,989), front carbon intake surrounds (RM9,170) and 21-inch M Performance lightweight cross-spoke alloys in style 943 M Bicolour Jet Black with gloss-milled finish (RM41,220).
For new owners, the parts can be factored into the final price with the 520i being priced on-the-road without insurance at RM349,800 while the i5 comes at RM399,800.
All BMW vehicles in Malaysia come with a standard two-year unlimited mileage warranty.
Owners of the 520i can also add a five-year extended warranty and service package at RM26,900.
The i5's standard two-year warranty (inclusive of an eight-year or 160,000km battery coverage) can also be enhanced with a five-year extended warranty and service package at RM20,300.
