Bentley teams up with 'Bang Bang' for tattoo job

MIAMI: Bentley Americas has worked with tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy to create a one-of-a-kind art car, unveiled at the recent Miami Art Week 2024.

The collaboration introduced a UV-activated vehicle wrap inspired by Bang Bang’s Magic Ink technology, which allowed tattoos to be revealed or concealed using specific light wavelengths.

The project is another showcase of Bentley’s customisation efforts.

A Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) served as the canvas for the UV design, co-created by Bang Bang and Bentley designers.

The artwork changes from geometric shapes on the bonnet to fluid patterns on the sides, evoking a journey from stress to serenity.

The design features Bentley’s Azure diamond motif and animalistic imagery, revealed under ultraviolet light to symbolise energy and unleashed potential.

During Miami Art Week’s Bentley Art in Motion showcase, guests experienced the collaboration through projection mapping and UV installations, highlighting the synergy between Bang Bang’s artistry and Bentley’s luxury craftsmanship.

Bentley Americas president Mike Rocco said the British brand is all for blending ingenuity and artistry. Bang Bang described the project as an exploration of customisation and celebrating individuality in motion.

Bentley said it wants to work with Bang Bang again for a second iteration in 2025. Customers will have a chance to turn their Bentleys into unique displays of personal identity.

Miami Art Week 2024 took place from Dec 2-8.
