Bentley opens 'Excellence Centre' for electric transition

LONDON: Bentley Motors has opened its "Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch" at its Crewe headquarters, advancing its shift towards electrification.

The facility, officially opened by Volkswagen AG board member Gunnar Kilian and Bentley’s leadership, will be integral in preparing for the launch of Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle — set for release next year.

Spanning 8,000 square metres over two floors, the centre is a key part of Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategy to transform its product range for a zero-emission future.

It includes a production proving ground, a mini assembly line for BEV testing, and a technical centre for materials research, precision measurement, and vehicle reliability assessments, ensuring Bentley’s signature quality and performance standards.

“The new facility will be a collaborative workspace for both Quality & Launch teams and will play a crucial role in upholding the unparalleled quality, precision, and craftsmanship that defines Bentley, as we deliver our first fully electric vehicle,” said Bentley’s manufacturing director Andreas Lehe.
