LONDON: Aston Martin has officially revealed the 2025 Vantage Roadster, a drop-top companion to its acclaimed Vantage Coupe. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine producing 665PS/656hp and 800Nm of torque, the Roadster retains the coupe’s front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and provides 0-100kph acceleration in 3.6 seconds, along with a 325kph top speed.
Engineered alongside its hardtop sibling, the Roadster features Aston Martin’s Active Vehicle Dynamics technology, an Electronic Rear Differential, and Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers specifically tuned for open-air driving.
Ensuring both performance and comfort, the chassis was reinforced with weight-optimised structural components to counteract the inherent challenges of a convertible, resulting in only a 60kg increase over the coupe.
The car retains near-perfect weight distribution, measuring 49:51 front to rear, while a non-isolated steering column and advanced suspension geometry maintain precise handling and sharp feedback.
A defining characteristic of the Vantage Roadster is its lightning-quick convertible top.
Operating via a “Z-fold” mechanism, the roof can open or close fully in 6.8 seconds at speeds up to 50kph, making it the fastest automatic folding roof currently on the market.
Despite this efficiency, the multi-layered soft top provides high levels of noise insulation, matching the refinement of the coupe when raised. Space is used in a way that removes the need for a heavy tonneau cover and lowering the overall centre of gravity.
The new Roadster incorporates the next-generation infotainment system first seen in the DB12.
It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen with capacitive gesture controls, balanced by physical switches for critical functions such as gear selection, chassis settings, and climate adjustments.
Occupants can also pair the system with a dedicated Aston Martin app, enabling remote interaction with the car via compatible mobile devices.
Standard audio is delivered by an 11-speaker setup, while an optional Bowers & Wilkins system is available for those seeking a more immersive listening experience—though many will prefer the stirring exhaust note provided by the twin-turbo V8.
Aston Martin’s storied design language remains evident, highlighted by a widened stance, prominent grille, and dramatic rear spoiler that merges neatly with the bootlid deck.
With the roof lowered, the Roadster’s profile emphasises its athletic proportions, supporting both aerodynamic efficiency and aggressive styling.
For added personalisation, buyers can select from an expanded colour palette for both the exterior finish and the fabric roof, while four styles of 21-inch wheels and multiple brake caliper hues allow for further customisation.
Joining the broader Aston Martin range that includes the DB12, DB12 Volante, Vanquish, DBX707, and forthcoming Valhalla supercar, the Vantage Roadster continues the brand’s tradition of blending elegant design with high performance.
