KUALA LUMPUR: Applications for the Asean Goods Vehicle Cross-Border Permit (AGVCBP), as required under the Asean Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Inter-State Transport (Afafist), are now open.
The Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) said that under Afafist, approved licensed transport operators have the opportunity to carry out cross-border operations involving the movement of goods vehicles between two adjacent Asean member countries.
It said it is a strategic step to strengthen economic integration in the Asean region and reflects the commitment of Asean countries to strengthen regional economic integration.
"By facilitating the movement of goods vehicles, this agreement helps to reduce trade barriers, improve logistics and trade efficiency between Asean countries, further making Asean more competitive at the global level," it said in a statement today.
Applications can be submitted online through the Commercial Vehicle Licensing System (iSPKP).
Further information and a copy of the Goods Vehicle Service Level Requirements (International Circulation) (Cross Border Asean) can be downloaded from the Apad website.
As for guidelines on licensing (International Circulation) (Asean Cross-Border Goods Vehicles), it can be downloaded from the Apad website.
