PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a Togg electric vehicle (EV) as a gift from Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Bernama reported that Erdogan presented a white Togg T10X to Anwar as a symbol of their friendship.
Anwar later drove the sport utility vehicle (SUV) to the Seri Perdana Complex, with Erdogan accompanying him, to attend the exchange of agreements, a joint press conference and a luncheon.
Togg, Türkiye’s first major national EV manufacturer, was set up in 2018.
According to Togg's website, the T10X is available in three variants and all are rear-wheel drive. The SUV produces 218hp and 350Nm of torque and has a top speed of 185kph.
Togg pitches it as an SUV that can be used for commuting or as a mobile office, as it provides seamless connectivity, enabling users to stay online at all times.
The base variant uses a 52.4kWh Li-ion battery, while the others use a 88.5kWh battery pack.
The T10X support 11kW AC charging and 180kW DC charging.
With a driving range of up to 523km (WLTP) on a single charge and the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in just 28 minutes, it combines practicality with performance, reaching 0-100kph in 7.4 seconds.
The design of the T10X reflects a fusion of modern aesthetics and technological sophistication, inspired by Anatolian heritage. Its sleek exterior, adorned with the tulip motif, symbolises the cultural connection between the car and the region.
The interior prioritises comfort with high-quality materials and spaciousness, including the longest legroom in its class. The vehicle also features a side-to-side multimedia screen that enhances the passenger experience, creating a space where the car transforms into an interactive hub for work, entertainment, and connectivity.
The T10X cabin is equipped a wireless phone charger, heated seats, and electric memory front seats.
Togg said the SUV also comes with advanced safety features such as seven airbags, hill start assist, cruise control, rear view camera, surround view camera, automatic parking assistant, traffic sign detection, advanced emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert and adaptive cruise control with stop&go.
