Alpine launches 110-unit A110 R Ultime

PARIS: Alpine has announced the A110 R Ultime, a high-performance variant of the A110 produced in a limited run of 110 examples.

Assembled at the Alpine plant in Dieppe, the new model is designed to enhance performance and offer extensive customisation options.

The A110 R Ultime accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.8 seconds and is around 20 seconds quicker than the standard A110 R on a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit.

The car’s engine has been modified with forged pistons, new connecting rods and an optimised turbocharger featuring a rebored casing and a new compressor wheel.

The mapping has been adjusted for a 102 RON octane rating, resulting in an output of 345bhp (254kW) with peak power reached at 6,000 rpm.

The maximum torque is 420Nm from 3,200rpm, yielding a power-to-weight ratio of 3.2 kg per bhp. A DCT6 gearbox is used to manage the increased power.

The chassis is built entirely of aluminium to maintain low weight, while the suspension system has been completely redesigned with Ohlins TTX dampers that offer both height adjustment and two-way hydraulic adjustment for compression and rebound.

New forged wheels measure 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear.

The braking system has been improved with larger compound discs and pads derived from motorsport applications. Michelin PS CUP 2 tyres have been developed specifically for the model.

Aerodynamic enhancements include a revised front splitter with a flexible lip, new fins on the front bumper, and endplates on the rear bumper.

Additional features such as two bonnet vents for improved cooling, an adjustable biplane rear wing, a spoiler and a ducktail on the beltline further contribute to an increase in downforce of 160kg compared with the A110 R.

Alpine has introduced an ultra-personalisation programme called Atelier Sur-Mesure, allowing customers a wide range of bespoke options.

Buyers can choose from 28 body colours, 10 leather shades and 14 shades of Alcantara. Additionally, 30 examples will be offered in a special version named La Bleue, featuring dual blue gradient paintwork and a coordinated interior.

Developed with input from Alpine’s experience in GT4 racing, the A110 R Ultime is intended to influence future models, including an electric A110 expected in late 2026.
