Allianz Malaysia improves two 'Rahmah Initiative' products to ensure affordability
By CARSIFU | 14 July 2023KUALA LUMPUR: Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia), in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs, has announced two upgraded products under the “Rahmah Initiative” Package.
They are PerlindunganKu Allianz4All for Personal Accident coverage and Allianz MotorcyclePlus for Motorcycle coverage.
Allianz Malaysia is among the first insurance providers to launch a product that is part of the Insurance Rahmah initiative by the Government of Malaysia which aims to provide affordable insurance plans for all Malaysians.
The enhanced PerlindunganKu Allianz4All under the Insurance Rahmah Initiative is an affordable, personal accident insurance plan with a coverage of RM30,000 and RM50,000 for Plan 1 and Plan 2, respectively.
This product also pays out RM50 or RM100 per day, for up to 30 days, in the event the policyholder is hospitalised due to illness or accident at a Government Hospital, depending on the chosen plan.
In line with the “Rahmah“ initiative, two new benefits have been added, namely, medical expense reimbursement at Government Hospitals for those who have had an accident or illness at the facility of up to RM500 and RM750 for Plan 1 and 2, respectively.
There will also be a lump sum payout of RM500 and RM750 for Plan 1 and 2 in the event of flood evacuation.
The new benefits are added at no additional costs, with premiums for Plan 1 and Plan 2 still maintained at RM53 and RM79.50 per year (inclusive of Service Tax), respectively.
Allianz4All is a new line of products by Allianz Malaysia that is structured on Universal Values and is in line with Islamic Financial Principles.
A percentage of premiums are received into a Claims Allocation Fund (CAF) and excess funds will be donated to a selected charitable category.
Recently, Allianz Malaysia disbursed its CAF surplus for the first time to seven charitable organisations including “Buku Jalanan Chow Kit”, “Persatuan Pendidikan Anak Cahaya, Selangor” and “MERCY Malaysia”, among others.
A total of RM65,534.51 was channelled into education, activities involving Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and other relief efforts.
The second product under the Rahmah Insurance Initiative Package is the Allianz Motorcycle Plus.
This product provides coverage for motorcycles with a capacity of 250cc and below, addressing a big percentage of road users.
All Allianz Motorcycle Plus policyholders are entitled to additional benefits including a road accident cover of RM10,000 each for the rider and pillion upon death or permanent disability as well as a Hospital Income cover of RM100 per day of up to 60 days each for the rider and the pillion.
In line with the Insurance Rahmah initiative, Allianz Malaysia is also offering a lump sum payout for Flood Relief of RM1,000 without additional costs on top of the existing benefits for the Allianz Motorcycle Plus policyholder.
In addition, Allianz Motorcycle Plus Comprehensive policyholders will be entitled to further protection including a full sum insured protection for special perils such as floods, typhoons, landslides among others and roadside assistance of up to 50km per roundtrip distance.
Allianz Malaysia CEO Sean Wang said having an affordable insurance plan is crucial.
“In the case of 'Insurance Rahmah,' we are happy to be able to see this through and commend the Government for spearheading the initiative. We look forward to developing more products and packages that cater to all segments of society, particularly those that resonate with the underserved and their immediate needs,“ he said.
