All-new Toyota Vios: Better than before
By CARSIFU | 27 July 2023PETALING JAYA: The latest generation Toyota Vios continues to defy expectations.
A bestseller in Malaysia since the model's introduction in 2003, the fourth-generation Vios boasts improved performance, quicker acceleration and a roomier interior along with higher levels of refinement and safety.
This makes the popular subcompact sedan an even more compelling choice for those looking for a car that has developed a solid reputation for delivering reliability, fuel efficiency and a value-for-money package.
The all-new Vios comes in two 1.5-litre variants with automatic transmissions, namely the G and E grades - in five colour options with Spicy Scarlet being a new choice.
The new vehicle has a more premium, sharper and bolder front look, along with larger body dimensions and a longer wheelbase offering roominess that surpasses its predecessors, together with a classy interior with best-in-class capabilities including the new Toyota Safety Sense pack, 9.0-inch display audio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, new digital air-conditioning controls, and a six-speaker sound system for a crisp audio experience.
All these features packed in the all-new Vios deliver the promise that defies the perception of its purpose, journey, and premium experience.
There are many reasons why the latest Toyota sedan delivers value for buyers, and these include its best-in-class 5.2-litre per 100km fuel efficiency thanks to the new 7-speed CVT (continuously variable transmission) with Sequential Shiftmatic.
The all-new Vios is powered by the proven 1.5-litre DOHC Dual VVT-i engine with 106PS and 138Nm of torque, and it accelerates just as fast as its closest competitor thanks to a lower body weight.
Compared with its predecessor, the all-new Vios has a 110kg weight reduction due to a new platform and weight-saving technology, which allows for better performance in acceleration and fuel economy.
There's also higher body rigidity and reduced mass, as it features state-of-the-art technology such as ultra-high tensile materials, a continuous frame design, and increased welding spots.
Also, its air vents cool the brakes faster and reduce drag, while the cabin is a lot quieter thanks to foam-filled cavities in the chassis - making for more refined motoring experiences.
Among the standard features are automatic LED headlamps with Follow Me Home function, a 3D panoramic view monitor, rear air conditioner vents, a front digital video recorder with a smartphone connectivity, six airbags, acoustic windshield glass, 17-inch wheels, wireless smartphone charger, smart entry and push start button, and drive modes of Eco, Normal and Power.
Also available for both variants are Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), pedal misoperation control, blindspot monitor, anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control and traction control.
The TSS has the capability to alert the driver of dangers and will act autonomously to prevent or avoid a collision.
The all-new Vios G grade gets additional items such as lane keeping control, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam control, 7-inch TFT multi-information display, rear LED lights with sequential turn signal, automatic air conditioner, as well as the seats, steering wheel and gear shifter knob in leather.
Other new features on the G grade such as paddle shifters and an electronic parking brake with automatic Brake Hold add more convenience.
Fitted with high-grade displays, redesigned seats for a more comfortable driving posture, and improved materials throughout the interior cabin, a spacious interior, cutting-edge features and offering exceptional fuel efficiency and comprehensive safety systems, the all-new Vios continues to strengthen UMW Toyota Motor’s position as Malaysia's leading non-national car brand that defies expectations.
On-the-road without insurance prices in Peninsular Malaysia start from RM95,500 for the G grade and RM89,600 for the E grade, while a variety of accessories are available to further personalise the car according to one's style.
The all-new Vios has a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage, as Toyota values its customers' peace of mind.
Prospective owners can enjoy Toyota’s 24Seven Road Assist and a three-year free subscription for the Toyota Telematics System which monitors the car’s location at all times for added security.
The all-new Vios is now available for test drives at all Toyota Showrooms.
