All-new Toyota Veloz open for booking, price from RM95,000
By CARSIFU | 24 June 2022SHAH ALAM: UMW Toyota Motor today announced that the highly anticipated all-new Toyota Veloz is now available for pre-launch booking.
The Veloz is available for order taking at all authorised Toyota showrooms nationwide with an estimated on-the-road price of RM95,000 without insurance.
The seven-seater Veloz replaces UMW Toyota Motor's long-standing favourite Avanza model in the local B-segment multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) market.
The Veloz is more spacious than the Avanza, gets a front-wheel drive platform (Avanza was rear-wheel drive), better driving performance and more safety equipment.
Launched in Indonesia in November last year, the Veloz became the archipelago nation’s third best-selling car in April.
UMW Toyota Motor will be offering the locally-assembled Veloz, powered by a 1.5-litre (2NR-VE) engine coupled to a seven-speed CVT, with the highest specification and advanced features for the best driving experience.
Targeted for Malaysians with active lifestyles, the vehicle also features the tagline “Happiness Inside Out” and offers the best of both worlds - the confident image of a premium crossover and the family comfort of a larger interior space MPV.
Equipment include class-leading advanced Toyota Safety Sense, Electric Parking Brake (EPB), “Qi” smart device charging pad, LED headlights with daytime running lights, roof rails, automatic air-conditioning and alloy wheels with 205/50R17 tyres.
Available colours are Silver Metallic with black roof, Blue Metallic with black roof, White, Metallic Bluish Black and Red Metallic.
UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran K said the company was committed to go the extra mile for its customers and ensure that they experience only the best.
“With the SST exemption ending on June 30, commencing the order taking for the all-new Toyota Veloz today is a token of appreciation to our customers for their support towards the Toyota brand and enabling them to drive the car of their dreams.
“We hope that Toyota fans and other potential buyers looking to purchase a car for their family will take the opportunity to do so and leverage on the Sales and Service Tax (SST) exemption before it ends,” he said.
Ravindran also expressed his appreciation for the support that the Malaysian Government had given the automotive industry through the implemented SST exemption from June 2020.
“Our positive sales performance can be attributed to the government’s initiative to drive the recovery of the local automotive industry and bolster the impact of the pandemic.
“UMW Toyota Motor will continue to provide best-in-class products and services, with the best financial packages and rebates to customers.
“As for customers who are waiting eagerly for vehicle stock availability, we seek your kind patience and understanding due to the current microchip shortages. Please be assured that UMW Toyota Motor is working towards fulfilling the outstanding orders at the soonest,” he added.
