KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Auto Malaysia (CAM), has officially introduced the Tiggo 7 Pro sports utility vehicle (SUV) since its preview in March.
Priced at RM123,800 (on-the-road without insurance), the Tiggo 7 Pro is accompanied by a seven-year (or 150,000km) warranty which also includes a seven-year free towing service and five-year free service.
The first 2,000 customers will be able to get the family SUV at a special price of RM119,800.
For choice, this SUV comes in four colour choices of Carbon Black, Platinum Grey, Nasdaq Silver and Khaki White with Black Roof.
Assembled in Kulim, Kedah, the Tiggo 7 Pro uses a 1.6-litre (1,598cc) direct-injected turbocharged engine to power the front wheels.
Power has been rated at 194hp and 290Nm of torque and is managed by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
This allows the 1,512kg (kerb) SUV to pull off the line and reach 100kph in 8.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 205kph.
The character of the engine can be altered via a dedicated Drive Mode Selection dial which offers Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes.
With an independent suspension system - front MacPherson struts and rear multi-link, it is accompanied by disc brakes at all four corners that are partially hidden by the 18-inch wheels fitted with 225/55 series tyres.
Externally, it comes equipped with rain-sensing wipers, a powered tailgate and LEDs for the front headlights with sequential turn signals, daytime runners and rear light clusters, and fog lamps.
Inside, the seats have been upholstered in leatherette and this includes the multi-function steering wheel .
Also, there's the convenience of a 540-degree HD panoramic camera system, keyless-entry with push-start button, walk-away auto lock, remote engine-start function, dual-zone automatic climate controls with rear vent, front seat ventilation and power-adjustability for the driver (six-way with memory function) and passenger (four-way).
To further enhance the ownership experience is a panoramic sunroof, 50W wireless charger, PM2.5 air purification function, 64 multi-colour ambient lighting system, front and rear USB- Type-A ports, and a Type-C port up front.
A wide 24.6-inch digital screen acts as a housing where half of it is for the digital cluster while the other half provides access to the infotainment display.
Meanwhile, entertainment comes from an eight-speaker Sony Premium Audio System.
For safety, there are seven airbags and the usual list of anti-lock braking system, brake assist system, electronic stability programme, hill-start assist control with hill descent control and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Further bolstering the list is Autonomous Emergency Braking, Multi Collision Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Door Opening Warning, Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent High Beam Control, Front Collision Warning with Rear Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Change Assist with Emergency Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Rear Cross Traffic Brake.
