All-electric Range Rover EV coming in October?
By JAY WONG | 19 September 2020LONDON: Initial reports earlier this year had car enthusiasts expecting an all-electric Range Rover EV and Jaguar XJ making their debuts in 2021.
It seems that the two vehicles will be getting their respective formal introductions in October and November this year instead.
The dates were reportedly rescheduled from their initial August and September (2020) dates due to delays brought upon by the Covid-19 pandemic and the company's employment of cost-cutting measures, according to Autocar UK.
The UK-based publication managed to obtain a transcript of a conference call involving Jaguar Land Rover, its investors and the company's chief financial officer Adrian Mardell.
The two electric vehicles will use Jaguar's new Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform that's meant for all-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and mild hybrid vehicles.
Reports have also emerged stating that the new Range Rover EV might have a considerably lower stance compared to its combustion-based stablemates with its looks leaning more towards a wagon rather than a sports utility vehicle (SUV).
The cars are supposedly round the corner, so let's wait and see.
