Priced at RM278,800 on-the-road without insurance, the 95%-recyclable i3s is also accompanied by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty with a free scheduled service program and BMW's two-year/24-month tyre warranty for its run-flat tyres.
The i3s is further supported by the BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline and new owners will gain access to the BMW Group Loyalty+ Mobile App and BMW Service Online before receiving the privileges of a BMW White Card.
BMW touts its i3s as a responsibly manufactured vehicle, which should sit nicely for the environmentally conscious, with sustainability in mind through the use of recyclable materials.
Also incorporated into the building of the car is upcycling which is the process of converting by-products or unwanted products into something of use.
Not to mention, the interior's surfaces are made of more than 80% renewable, natural and recycled materials.
At around 1,300kg, through the use of aluminium at the base of its platform and carbon fibre for the passenger cell, it uses a 42.2kWh (120Ah) Li-ion battery that's capable of travelling up to 260km.
For an added cost of RM8,897, the BMW i Wallbox facilitates speed charging at home with 11kW of charging power for an electric range of 180km in under three hours.
The i Wallbox is equipped with WiFi access and can be operated via a smartphone, smartwatch, PC or tablet, and can also access all features of the BMW Digital Charging Service.
For public charging, the i3s gets access to the local ChargEV network which is part of the BMW 360-degree Electric programme and depending on location, the network provides for outputs of 3.7kW, 7.0kW and 22kW.
In terms of power, the i3s' electric motor provides 181hp and 270Nm of torque which allows for 0 to 100kph sprint time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 160kph.
This is supplemented by four driving modes of Comfort (default), Eco Pro, Eco Pro+ and Sport.
