KLANG: Honda Malaysia today reached a historic milestone with the delivery of the 170,000th Civic and the 150,000th HR-V in Malaysia.To celebrate this double joy, the company hosted a special car handover ceremony at Honda Botanic Auto Mall Sdn Bhd here to toast the achievements with the owners of these popular models.
The milestone Civic, a 2.0L e:HEV RS, and the HR-V, a 1.5L e:HEV RS, were presented to Lim Chin Hui and Asha Waheda respectively. Asha was represented by Achmad Khidir Member.
Each owner received a gift package and Honda accessories valued at RM10,000.
Lim praised the 11th Generation Civic for its sophisticated design and advanced hybrid powertrain, which he finds ideal for his daily commute. Asha highlighted the HR-V's stylish appearance and practical comfort, which fits with her lifestyle.
In the first half of 2024, Honda Malaysia reported a 16% increase in sales, totalling over 39,200 units.
The HR-V led sales in the Non-National Compact SUV Segment with a 28% share, followed by the City at 24% and the CR-V at 15%.
The company also said there was a growing demand for its e:HEV hybrid technology, which contributed 13% to overall sales, reflecting strong interest in its hybrid models.
