YouTube built into four Porsche models
By CARSIFU | 10 December 2024STUTTGART: Porsche has announced that YouTube will now be a standard feature in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system for all 911, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan models equipped with in-car video capabilities.
This addition follows the use of YouTube in the all-electric Macan model.
New vehicles will have access to the video platform immediately upon delivery, while existing models can receive a free software update to enable the feature.
This feature transforms Porsche vehicles into mobile multimedia hubs, enhancing entertainment options for short trips and extended travels.
The YouTube platform offers a vast array of entertainment and educational videos, allowing travellers to explore points of interest or discover dining options along their route.
In addition, it provides access to useful tutorials about vehicle functions through Porsche's own series.
YouTube also serves as a resource for real-time information, including weather updates and local news. The service is available for free within the PCM, and users can log in with their personal YouTube accounts for personalised content recommendations.
While parked, all compatible Porsche models can display YouTube videos on the central PCM screen, making it an ideal way to use charging breaks in electric vehicles.
For enhanced passenger enjoyment, a display option is available for the Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan that can't be seen from the driver's seat and won't distract the driver.
