PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Minister has appointed three companies to implement Phase One of the Motor Vehicle Inspection Services.The companies awarded the letter of appointment today are Wawasan Bintang Sdn Bhd, Pakatan Petroleum Sdn Bhd and Beriman Gold Sdn Bhd.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that companies receiving the Motor Vehicle Inspection Services appointment offer letter today are given 24 months to complete the necessary infrastructure requirements.
This includes premises development, procurement of inspection equipment and obtaining approval from relevant authorities.
"If the companies do not manage to complete the infrastructure within the 24 months, their appointment will be revoked."
Each company will hold a 10-year licence, subject to annual renewal.
Loke said companies failing to meet service requirements would lose their licence to operate.
