Renault Filante Record 2025 aims to push limits of energy efficiency

PARIS: You are looking at the Renault Filante Record 2025, an electric concept car that blends advanced technology with the brand's motorsport heritage.

Designed to push the limits of energy efficiency, the single-seater is a tribute to historic Renault record-breakers like the 40 CV des Records, Nervasport des Records, and the Etoile Filante. It showcases a new aerodynamic design and futuristic features, aiming to set new performance records in the first half of 2025.

The vehicle's design is derived from aeronautics, with sleek, flowing lines that mimic the organic forms of high-performance aircraft.

It features a lightweight structure, made with carbon fibre, aluminium, and advanced 3D-printed materials to reduce weight and optimise energy efficiency. The car’s body includes fairings for the wheels and a fighter jet-inspired protective cockpit bubble, all designed to minimise drag.

The interior harks of performance, comfort and efficiency.

A minimalist, aviation-inspired cockpit includes a hammock-style seat made from lightweight materials, while an electronic control system replaces traditional mechanical steering and braking. The steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technologies reduce weight and open up design possibilities.

At the Rétromobile motor show here, the Filante Record 2025 will be displayed before embarking on a record-breaking efficiency run.

The vehicle is equipped with Michelin tyres designed for reduced rolling resistance, enhancing range by up to 20%. Its advanced battery system integrates cell-to-pack technology to optimise space and weight, contributing to an overall weight of just 1,000kg.

The Filante Record 2025 marks the centenary of the 40 CV des Records.
