SHAH ALAM: Modenas has unveiled an upgraded Elegan 250 EX maxi-scooter that gets an Euro 4-compliant engine and several new features.
Offered at a recommended selling price of RM16,997, the new 250cc single-cylinder SOHC engine comes with fuel injection for higher efficiency to deliver 16.5kW (22.1hp) and 22.4Nm of torque.
The 2023 model gets a fresher and sleeker projector headlamp with LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) while the rear comes with a signature 'X' shaped taillight for greater visibility.
Aside from the upgraded projector headlamp, other features maintained are the multi-functional digital speedometer, trip meter, digital clock, battery voltage indicator and oil service reminder.
Another very useful feature is a USB charger socket conveniently located near the handlebar, allowing riders to charge their smartphones while on the go.
Meanwhile, its anti-lock braking system with the dual-channel ABS promises superior stopping power in all weather conditions.
Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said Elegan has built up a reputation for delivering a safe and comfortable riding experience.
The Elegan 250 EX also comes with two years or 20,000km manufacturing warranty (whichever comes first).
It's available in two new colour schemes of Matte Silver Crystal and Petroleum Blue that should appeal to younger and sportier buyers.
