KUALA LUMPUR: Jaecoo Malaysia has started sending out the J7 PHEV premium sports utility vehicles (SUVs) to its dealerships for delivery to early buyers.
Three weeks since the launch, the upmarket brand of Chery is now making good on its promise of handing over the first batch of J7 PHEVs in the first quarter of the year, well within its anticipated schedule.
Jaecoo Malaysia vice-president Emily Lek said: "We are excited for Malaysians to experience the innovation and sophistication of the J7 PHEV firsthand.
"The Super Hybrid System (SHS), with its cutting-edge technology and exceptional performance, redefines Malaysia’s hybrid vehicle landscape driving innovation, paving the way for dynamic, competitive growth."
The J7 PHEV Premium SUV (2WD) also sets a new benchmark in the segment and is attractively priced at RM158,800.

The PHEV also comes with a seven-year vehicle warranty or up to 150,000km mileage, and an eight-year warranty or up to 160,000km mileage on its battery, power motor and power motor controller unit.
The eight-year warranty provides a 1 to 1 exchange when the state of health (SOH) of the battery falls below 70% during the warranty tenure.
The PHEV is also available in three colours of Khaki White, Carbon Crystal Black and Moonlight Silver.
Khaki White will be a highly-coveted limited-edition option with only 100 units of its kind in Malaysia, after which Jaecoo will subsequently introduce an olive grey option.
Jaecoo Malaysia said the J7 PHEV paves the way for a new era of hybrid vehicles in Malaysia with its fuel economy, longer driving range and the seamless power flow between engine and electric motor.
The company will hold a roadshow for the public to learn about Jaecoo's cutting-edge PHEV technology at 1Utama Shopping Centre (GF Luxe), Petaling Jaya from March 27 to 30.
