All-new Zontes 350 Series scooter launched from RM23,800
By JAY WONG | 18 August 2023KUALA LUMPUR: Zontes Distribution Sdn Bhd, the official importer and distributor of Zontes Motorcycles in Malaysia, launched its feature-packed 350 Series scooter.
Available in two variants from the China-based brand, they are the 350D priced at RM23,800 (Black or Silver) and the range-topping 350E at RM25,800 (White or Black).
Both variants are covered by a two-year or 20,000km warranty and a three-year or 30,000km warranty for engine parts.
Currently available at all Zontes outlets, the scooters are powered by a 349cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine producing 36hp and 38Nm of torque.
A continuously variable transmission is mated to the engine. The scooter sips from a 12-litre fuel tank and is said to provide up to 400km in Eco-mode.
Among the scooter's many features is a 6.7-inch TFT screen with mobile phone mirroring, electronically adjustable windshield and 19W dual fast-charging ports with Type-A and C interfaces.
The scooter is aimed at those intermediate riders aged from 31 to 40 years old as well as those looking for a second bike.
The 350D which weighs in at 190kg has a 1,450mm wheelbase and boasts of nimble handling, comfortable suspension, good pick-up and fuel economy.
The larger 350E (203kg) uses a longer wheelbase at 1,565mm and is touted to be better suited for long-distance touring and targets the same age group who are intermediate riders or are used to big bikes.
The 350E also has a larger 50-litre seat storage space that can accommodate two full-faced helmets while two large water-resistant storage areas at the front are able to fit four 500ml water bottles with additional space left over.
Additionally, the 350E's integrated aluminium alloy handles (with heated grips) can be adjusted forward and aft for that preferred riding position.
Among the scooters' common safety provisions are front and rear disc brakes with J Juan radial-type four-piston callipers, dual-channel anti-lock braking system, traction control, tyre-pressure monitoring system and Osram LED bulbs all-round.
"This is perhaps the most value-for-money scooter in the (Malaysian) market featuring stunning designs, top-of-the-range specifications and high build-quality and finishing," said Zontes Distribution marketing manager Joey Chia.
She added that with the introduction of the new scooters, it expands the company's portfolio to nine offerings and as such it is now planning to increase its sales and aftersales network reach nationwide.
